Thank you for your interest in working at our schools.
New staff find them friendly and welcoming places, where adults and children are eager to learn and develop their knowledge and skills. We are mixed day schools with 570 pupils on roll across both schools, with a Nursery of up to 56 part time places at each school. Broadmere Primary Academy and New Monument Primary Schools are an important part of the local community, serving its needs for high quality educational experiences for its young children.
Everyone at the schools, whether teachers, support staff or Governors, are committed to provide a happy, safe and hard-working atmosphere, in which children are challenged to extend their learning to the full. We value all children as individuals, and encourage them to develop into independent, resourceful and caring citizens. Broadmere is set in extensive grounds bordered by the Basingstoke Canal, on a ‘campus’ with the Bishop David Brown Community Comprehensive School with which ever closer links are being forged, especially in the fields of the Arts, ICT and out-of-school -hours learning.
New Monument School is situated in Maybury, bordered by a community playing field to the front, allotments to the right and backs onto a golf course
• Most pupils live locally in the Sheerwater and Maybury areas of Woking and the schools enjoy very strong loyalties in the community.
• Staff plan and work in teams to make a real difference to the lives of our pupils.
• Excellent relationships exist in leadership and management with the governing body, and the schools are well supported by the LEA.
• There is a large team of experienced, well-trained support staff who support the learning of children with hearing and learning difficulties.
• 80% + children across the Federation have English is an additional language.
• Broadmere and New Monument co-founded an innovative partnership of local schools known as the SHINE Partnership, bringing together four local primary schools, and a secondary school. Many exciting events have already taken place in the first few years, with many more planned. We believe in working together with business, community and other interested groups to develop initiatives in the area to benefit children and their families.
• Broadmere is specially resourced with fully qualified Teachers of the Deaf and specialist equipment for deaf children across the school.
• Broadmere had a good OfSTED in March 2010, and is working towards becoming an Outstanding School.
• New Monument was last inspected in December 2013 and had a good OfSTED, and is working towards becoming an outstanding School.
