"I am delighted to welcome you to Launde Primary School.

We are an inclusive and nurturing primary school, firmly rooted in strong moral values. We enjoy working with our supportive parents and a committed staff team to create a community in which every individual is supported to flourish and where we all work together to make our school a safe, happy and motivational place to learn.

At Launde, we have high aspirations and expectations, and the needs of our pupils are at the heart of all we do. Our aim is for our children to be confident, caring, resilient and curious; we encourage them to achieve the very best and have a 'can do' attitude towards all they do whilst understanding their important role as citizens of our school.

Our broad curriculum has a wide range of interesting and exciting learning experiences for our children both within the school day and during our extracurricular activities. Our children gain many memorable learning experiences whilst at school, both within lessons and visits and from visitors that come to share.

If you would like to know more about our school then please contact the school. We would be delighted to show you around, and introduce you to everyone who makes Launde such a great place to be!"

About Us

At Launde, we value strong links between family and school and recognise the importance of a strong partnership to ensure we provide the very best education for our pupils. Through this partnership, we nurture the unique character and skills of each child and ensure the well-being of our children is paramount. Our child-centred approach is captured in our vision:

'At Launde we create Kind Hearts, Curious Minds and Bright Futures'

Children are at the heart of all we do. We are committed to providing a supportive and nurturing environment where every child can reach their full potential. Our curriculum is tailored to meet the individual needs of all our pupils, ensuring that they receive a high-quality education that prepares them for the challenges and opportunities of the future. We inspire a 'can do' attitude for both staff and pupils, where we look to take small steps forward with encouragement and collaboration, working together to be the best we can be.

I am proud of our dedicated team of staff who work extremely hard to achieve this aim. As a large school with over 630 pupils, we understand the importance of providing a consistent and high-quality learning experience for all our children. Our dedicated team of teachers and staff work closely together to ensure that every class receives the same excellent standard of teaching and support. Work is planned jointly, in year groups with close liaison, communication and support from our amazing teaching assistants and support staff.

Flying High Partnership

We are proud to be part of the Flying High Trust, a partnership of primary schools across Derbyshire, Leicestershire, Nottinghamshire and Nottingham City.

Together we will create unique, exceptional and sustainable schools that inspire communities and empower children.

Centred on meaningful partnership, our schools focus on collaboration and internal support whilst always remaining outward facing. We all share a common purpose and vision – the key is to ensure our schools retain their uniqueness and ethos that enables them to meet the needs of their communities. We are all in this together and have a collective responsibility to maintain a distinct culture that supports the development of the children across our schools. By the end of their primary education we aim for all our children to be ready for secondary school and be inspired to be the best they can be.
