Could I really teach abroad?
Each year around thirty thousand UK teachers make the move overseas to embark on the adventure of a lifetime. Recently qualified teachers head off seeking warm climates and new cultures, however it may be the more experienced teachers and teachers with family who get the most out of international teaching as the placements often include a place for your own children at some of the world's most renowned independent schools.
All of the schools that we work with operate through the medium of English and are almost entirely British international schools. Most have a UK counterpart school here.
Why teach abroad?
Class sizes tend to be smaller and schools tend to be well resourced; many have stunning auditoriums, pools, football pitches, multiple science labs, cafeterias, spacious corridors, and classrooms, libraries on their state-of-the-art campuses.
International schools tend to employ for fixed term contracts, typically of 2 years. They also often include an annual flight home. The benefits vary from schools to school and, of course, country to country: some include full medical insurance, others offer a room in a shared house or an apartment. For many new teachers, this is the first time they have enjoyed a key to a place of their own.
